Ammonia in water exists as a mixture of free ammonia (NH3) and ionized ammonia (NH4 +) in equilibrium. Ammonia can be removed from an aquarium by depleting either free or ionized ammonia. The DPA Super Mineral is formulated to remove ammonia by converting it to a non toxic cyclic amine which is readily removed by the tank’s bio filter. It is bound and held in an inert state until such time that bacteria in the biological filter are able to take hold of it, break it apart and use it.

Super Mineral may also be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Super Mineral detoxifies nitrite and nitrate immediately, allowing the bio filter to remove them more efficiently. It is non-acidic and will not impact pH and will not over activate skimmers. Currently, we are supplying this formulation to major aquaculture farms that are engaged in intensive feeding routine and for the treatment of packing water where live fish and crustaceans are kept in transit for more than 48 hours.
